ABOUT
Kara Firman is a self-proclaimed hair nerd, and can not help but immerse herself in as many of the avenues of the hair industry that she can get her hands and heart into.
She has been a stylist since 2003, but her love of hair started while she was growing up in her Mom's salon.
Kara has competed in live and photo competitions, is a member of the Master Judges Panel of Canada, an educator with L'Oreal Professionnel and sits on the Trade and Apprenticeship Board of Saskatchewan.
She opened GUIDE Hair Salon in 2017 where she has built a successful business and strong team of stylists. Her newest venture The Guild Studios, is a co-working space for Beauty, Fashion and Wellness businesses. It offers private suites, pop-up rentals, education, events and networking.
Education has always been important to her, and with the motto “Never Stop Learning” she has had a successful career behind the chair. No longer working with clients in the salon, Kara has stepped into her role as a leader. She is a passionate advocate for the beauty industry, loves sharing her knowledge and building her business and team.
With her no-ego attitude and the love of all things hair, she will continue to educate and share with others to inspire those in the hair industry.
BUSINESSES
Open since Fall 2017, Guide is an employee based salon with a team of talented stylist providing hair services in the beautiful Riversdale Community. With our big windows showing off the riverbanks, you will feel at ease in our beautiful space.
Open since Summer 2021, The Guild Studios is a co-working space for Beauty, Fashion and Wellness businesses located in the heart of Downtown Saskatoon. It offers private suites and daily/hourly rental space options for education, events, networking and more.

ON-LOCATION STYLING
Offering your hairstyling needs on-location for branding shoots, editorials, weddings, special events and more. Kara is experienced in styling and collaborations and enjoys bringing hair inspiration and goals to life.
She is calm and professional behind the scenes, works quickly and has a keen eye for making changes and adjustments as needed.
EDUCATION
Kara has been an educator for over 13 years of theory, colour, styling, cutting business and more. She travels throughout Canada as a national artist in classroom, on stage and through events with L'Oreal Professionnel.
She has programs ready to be shared, or is open to creating a custom program based on your personal or team needs.
COACHING/ CONSULTING

With an extensive amount of experience as a stylist, educator, business owner and entrepreneur, trade board member, master judge and more... after a discovery call, Kara will help you get to your next goal by sharing her experience, knowledge and resources.
